I am Dr. Binitha Purushothaman — an independent scientific and medical writer and academic support specialist based in Kerala, India. I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and over the past 12+ years, I have worked at the intersection of research, writing, and education, where science meets clarity, and knowledge meets communication.
I started my writing practice because I kept seeing the same problem: brilliant researchers with valuable findings who could not get published — not because their science was weak, but because their writing did not do it justice. Journals reject papers for language, structure, and presentation, not just for methodology. That gap — between good science and published science — is exactly what I built this practice to close.
My journey began in the laboratory and the lecture hall. Over time it expanded into something broader and more purposeful: helping researchers get published, helping students truly understand their subject, and helping clinicians translate their clinical observations into credible, peer-reviewed scientific literature.
Today, my work spans three deeply connected areas: Scientific & Medical Writing — crafting publication-ready manuscripts targeting SCOPUS, PubMed, Web of Science (SCIE), DOAJ, and Embase indexed journals; Academic Support in Biochemistry — personalised, one-on-one guidance for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students; and Research Advice & Coordination — supporting researchers from study design through to final submission and publication.
